Mahalo joins a queue, but what are we waiting for?
June 28th, 2007by conrad

Earlier today, three of us Mahalans were walking down 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, when we discovered a queue of people sitting down outside a store that sells Apples. Being the curious bunch that we are, we decided to sit down and see what was up: maybe if we wait long enough we’ll be able to discover what’s going down.

Whatever’s going on here is obviously important. A film crew from ABC just turned up and asked us why we were queuing. All we could manage to say was “have you checked out this awesome website called Mahalo.com?”

Here’s Laura getting all interviewed.

Just now a woman started repeatedly playing three very angsty songs set to a horrible keyboard beat track. Hopefully she will go away soon. One passer by got a little carried away and started dancing to the Musaq tunes.

Ruh roh! The cops apparently didn’t like his dancing style! They asked him to move on.

Even the Associated Press cares about whatever’s going on here. Here’s one of their photographers taking photos of us. Right now we’re feeling very meta, because this post will go live as he continues to photograph the line.

It must be the line for the next Star Wars movie. Is anyone dressed as Obi-Wan?

And here we go, a lesson in free publicity. It’s an art not a science.
Anyways, did it make TV? The diggnation guys made CNBC apparently.
